On Sunday, 27 July, FC Red Bull Salzburg will meet Kapfenberger SV in the Austrian Bundesliga. Under the guidance of new head coach Co Adriaanse, Salzburg have started the new season on a scoring spree.
Salzburg, who will be part or the UEFA Cup since the Main Groups Phase have already scored 11 goals in the first three matches, an average of 3.67. That is the highest goalscoring average in the last 50 seasons.
For Adriaanse, this would by far be his most productive season as trainer if it can be sustained. So far, he had his most productive season with Ajax in 2000/2001 when they scored 85 goals in 34 matches, an average of 2.50 per match.
