While they are waiting for the UCL Group Stage, MUFC will be playing another edition of the Community Shield. On Sunday, they will face Portsmouth, who can become the 14th club to win the Community Shield multiple times. In 1949 Portsmouth shared the Charity Shield with Wolverhampton Wanderers after a 1-1 draw.
Manchester United is title holders after they beat Chelsea on penalties one year ago. It marked the Red Devils’ 16th Community Shield win which is a competition record, according to Infostrada Sports.
